Resurfacing Athgoe Road & Smiths Hill for South Dublin County Council

Mitchell Macadam is pleased to have completed resurfacing works on Athgoe Road and Smiths Hill for South Dublin County Council, delivering improved road surfaces across more than 8,000m².

The works began with the removal of the existing carriageway using our milling machine, followed by a thorough clean of the road surface and the application of a bitumen emulsion bond coat. Our surfacing team then installed a new 50mm SMA 14 Polymer Modified Bitumen wearing course, providing a durable, high-quality finish designed to withstand the demands of daily traffic.

Careful planning and close collaboration with our traffic management partner, Nuzum Road Services, enabled the project to be completed safely over a four-day programme while keeping disruption to a minimum for road users and the local community.
